The Security Industry Institute (SII) was set up in September 2007 to offer nationally recognised and comprehensive professional security training and placement for security personnel. Jointly established by Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), SII aims to enhance the security industry’s professional and operating standards and employability of the workforce through various skills upgrading initiatives. Security personnel would now be able to undergo nationally recognized and comprehensive professional training under the Security Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) framework.
Incorporated since 1982, AutomationSG (formerly known as SIAA) is a professional association for companies and professionals in the Automation, Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Robotics sectors. To date, AutomationSG has about 500 active member companies and professionals, representing different industry verticals such as smart cities, buildings, logistics, retail, transportation, tourism, healthcare, and manufacturing.
Security Association Singapore (“SAS”) is the lead trade association representing the security industry in Singapore. Established in 1978, SAS is the first trade association to represent the security and private investigation industry. It now has over 170 members comprising security agencies, training organisations, companies involved in security systems and private investigations. SAS is the leading voice in the sector, working with government agencies, fellow associations, related organisations and relevant stakeholders to represent the interests of members, bringing benefits to members, improving professionalism and raising performance standards within the industry.
Formed in 1978, USE is an affiliate of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) representing all persons who are employed in a bargainable capacity in the security and security related services (such as private investigation, enforcement and screening, etc) and who have attained the minimum age under the Trade Unions Act, regardless of race, nationality, sex or creed but excluding all persons who are members of any auxiliary force as defined in the Police Force Act (Cap. 235 of 1985 Edition).
Environmental Management Association of Singapore (EMAS) was first established in 1986 by service providers from contract cleaning, waste management and pest control industries. The aim of EMAS is to provide a cohesive platform for companies in the environmental industry to raise the professionalism of the industry and to address the common concerns of environmental and hygienic services.
